Victory of Good over the evil

Durga Puja celebrates the victory of the goddess Durga over the demon king Mahishasura. It begins on the same day as Navratri, a nine-night festival celebrating the divine feminine. Dussehra is celebrated on the 10th day. Dussehra signifies the day when Goddess Durga killed Mahishasur– the demon and thus, a day of happiness and celebration.

Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is a renowned festival of Hindus as it denotes the victory of good over the evil.
